If my parent’s friends had used LinkedIn, their experience would have been pretty boring: 30+ years at the same company!
But try explaining your career to a young child today, it’s probably far too diverse.
40 years ago, it was a simpler story. Everyone worked for a giant company, and they were my parent’s dream. I was told to go to school, get good grades, be a leader so that one day I could work for one of these great companies.
But today, that structure is gone. The game has changed. But has our education kept up?
Children need a different set of skills: Entrepreneurship, and the gift of confidence to know they can succeed. But I do wonder whether we are setting our children up for success as best we can.
