Why do we need to consider having a boss or being your own boss?
In this fast-paced world, sometimes we just want to quit our jobs and just stay home to have some quality time to take care of our family. But of course, there are thousands of things to consider before passing your resignation letter to your boss. You think of ways on how to shift your career, whether you would apply to another company or look for other opportunities. But since you are afraid to take risk of not being able to find a new source of income after you resigned, hence, you got stuck on your 9 to 5 daily grind for a couple of years more, then a couple of years more.
In this post, we are going to talk about the differences of having a boss and being your own boss. And how franchising can help us achieve both the time and financial freedom we are all longing for.
First, let’s discuss few things about Having a Boss.
Can be fired or Laid off anytime without a warning
Most companies are concerned mainly with ways on how they can earn. Therefore, if there comes a time that your company experiences a financial downfall, one of the things they will consider is to lay off some of their employees. Which you and your co-workers are not sure who will they unfortunately pick.
Contributions are not that much valued
Some companies, since they know that they can always find a replacement for your position, don’t care about your contributions. You cannot expect even the simplest way of appreciation since for them, it is your duty. You are paid for what you are doing.
Single income stream
Since you are too occupied with your 9 to 5 daily grind, you do not have the time to look for other ways on how you can earn a living. Hence, when you got fired or laid off, you do not have other options on where to root for your financial needs.
Age DOES matter
When you are in your 50s or older, you become less valued for the company. Therefore, you can expect to be laid off anytime the company would want. And where will it take you if you are not ready to retire yet?
More travel time, less time for your family
As an employee, you should at least arrive 30 minutes earlier on your workplace. Therefore, when your home is miles away from your workplace, you should leave about two hours to arrive on time. Also, another two hours will be spent for you to go home, so usually 12 hours is spent for your precious job.
Now, let’s talk about Being Your Own Boss.
You are the last one fired
Nobody can fire you. Nobody can lay you off. You are your own boss.
You got three income streams
- Paid a salary
- Tax savings
- Growth equity
Full control of your lifestyle
You have your freedom to make your own schedule. You are free to spend vacations whenever and wherever you want to. You have more quality time to spend with family, friends and with yourself.
Privilege to choose who you want to work with
Since you are the boss, you can choose the clients and coworkers you can work with. You are the one to hire them or to fire them, so you have the full control.
Passion for what you do
You love what you do. Every business day is not another work day for you but another day to do enrich your passion. You can smilingly face your business’ problems because you know it is another chance to learn and to improve.
Creates job and opportunities
Not only for your personal or financial benefit, you too can help other people seeking for job opportunities which can, therefore, help the economy.
To have a boss or to be your own boss
There are different pros and cons on both having a boss and being your own boss. Both are risky, you just have to choose what risk you want to take for you to achieve financial freedom and a long-term stream of income for you and your family.
